What is the value of a beautiful smile?

The truth is no one can answer that question for you, including myself. And perhaps the more appropriate question should be; what price do we pay for not having the kind of smile we can be proud of? A romance lost, perhaps a career opportunity missed? Maybe it’s the much needed day to day laughter and smiling you’re missing in an effort to hide your teeth.

Whatever a poor smile may be costing you; it’s certainly not worth paying. Our smile is so important to our social connectedness and the evidence is all around us. Numerous studies have documented the positive effects of smiling for both our mental well-being and the influence of others. In fact, the smile is rated the most desirable physical quality for both men and women.

With all the twists and turns in life there a few things we have real control over, and if we don’t take advantage of what we can control, we are certainly selling ourselves short. I know what a beautiful smile has meant to my patients and it is part of what makes my field so rewarding. The advances in dental technology today allow me to re-create the kind of natural-looking smile once considered unobtainable. So the real question is:
