Lower Complete Implant Reconstruction

Feeling confident is very important in society. In my profession I have to work with the public and worrying about my dentures slipping or clicking did not help matters. Now, with my implants there are many improvements in my life. Slipping dentures, clicking and sore spots are no longer a problem. I also feel that I am chewing my food better. It all started because I wanted whiter teeth and my regular dentist told me my 15 year old veneers could not be bleached. Then a friend recommended David Andros to me. My smile was an “OK” smile, not ugly, but not beautiful either. I showed a lot of gum while smiling. Also, my gum line was uneven. My teeth were short, boxy looking and discolored from years of wear. Dr. Andros suggested gum sculpturing; a procedure I didn’t even realize could be done. That was the beginning of a whole new smile for me. Dr. Andros worked patiently with me through bleaching my lower teeth, gum sculpturing, temporaries and the final veneers. Even the illusion of my bite was improved. All my friends have complimented what my daughter calls “my Hollywood teeth”. I smiled at a woman in a public restroom and she said, “oh, what beautiful teeth you have”. If my friend hand not told me about Dr. Andros, I would have gone to my regular dentist for new whiter veneers and my 4 front teeth and settled for the same old, badly shaped teeth and crooked gum line. For a few dollars more, I have a beautiful smile with perfectly shaped natural teeth. My confidence in my appearance has taken a giant leap forward. I am completely satisfied with Dr. Andros’ expert skill in creating my new smile. I’ll always be grateful to my friend for sending me to David Andros. This is an investment I’ll enjoy for the rest of my life. I’ve told my daughters, “when my time comes, lay me out smiling!”

Before receiving the implants I was having trouble chewing, going out to eat meant several trips to the restroom to remove food that had lodged under my original denture making it impossible to eat comfortably. Also, it feels good not to sound like a typewriter (click, click) when eating or talking. There was no discomfort in the surgery, but there never is with Dr. Andros, and the follow care was simple. When I heard about Dr. Andros on Word I was only looking for a good dentist that I could have confidence in and a dentist who acted in a professional manner. I never had any thought or hope that dental implants were a possibility for me, because I had worn partial dentures for 30 years. After Dr. Andros examined my teeth and explained dental implant procedure, and how it could eliminate my partial denture, it made a lot of sense and I decided to have the work done. Now I am so happy that I made the choice. I had worn partial dentures for so long that I had forgotten the freedom you have with permanent teeth. My natural teeth that supported my partial were loose, and now they were strong and secure. My gums were constantly irritated and now they look and feel so healthy. Even my bite has improved. I’m totally convinced that the dental implant was the healthiest choice for me and it probably would be for a lot of other people who have never considered it. I personally know several people who have partial or full dentures and never wear them. Now isn’t that a waste of time and money?

I am in a unique position to express my opinion of Dr. Andros and his staff in view of our history together. I went to the same high school, graduated the same year, and years later Dave became a client of mine as well. After losing a tooth to a 20-year old root canal that had gone bad; I then became a client/ patient of Dr. Andros adding to our relationship. Firstly, the implant procedure was a pleasant surprise to me considering my low pain threshold as far as dental work goes. I found the implant to be less painful then having a filling replaced, and that is saying something. As far as the look and function of the implant, I couldn’t be happier with it. There is no question that I followed the right advice from Dr. Andros. Because of our history, I can also speak to the integrity, professionalism, and even personality of Dave and his entire staff; Jennifer, Monica, Ellen, and Carolyn.
